How it works
Independent licensed taxi drivers are required to sign a CabCard Service Agreement and upon acceptance receive a mobile chip & PIN terminal and access to our payment processing systems. An individual driver is assigned his or her terminal. All payments made by card through a terminal are paid into a driver's existing bank or building society account.
A passenger who uses a chip & PIN card to pay for their fare has their transaction quickly authorised via the terminal using GPRS to connect securely to the UK banking system.
As soon as the transaction is complete and approved by the bank, the driver’s terminal prints a copy receipt of the transaction for both the driver and the cardholder passenger.
Drivers benefit from receiving payment of their fares and gratuities every 7 DAYS without any deductions for bank charges or merchant fee commissions etc.
Our transaction routing and submission systems operate in accordance with APACS standards and current standard Visa and MasterCard PCI DSS.
